             Artist: Gessen (1721-1809)
                        Born Nagoya, Priest of 
                        Jakusho-Ji at Ise Yamada.
                        Studied under Sakurai, Maruyama Okyo                         and Yosa Buson.
                        Sold his paintings for exorbitant sums                         of money to finance the enlargement
                        of his temple.
               Size: Entire scroll - 61 1/2" height
                        Tiger painting - 28 7/8" height
